Archaius tigris – gallery

Archaius tigris

Archaius tigris is edmic to the Seychelles and is only found on the following islands, Mahé, Praslin and Silhouette.

Mahë:

Congo rouge, Mahe:
This mountainous area is somewhat colder than other areas where A. tigris is found. The animals is supposed to be smaller here and have brighter colors, with more orange / red. The majority of the females also have an orange lips.

La Misére, Mahé:
The animals from here is said to have a little more yellow colors.

La Reserve, Mahé:
This area is located in the southern part of Mahé and is hot and dry. The animals from this area does not grow particularly big and some individuals lack the enlarged conical gular scales . The females base color is bright yellow.

Praslin:

Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles.
